Refried Beans



  1. Saute. In a medium sauce pan, heat oil or water, saute onions for 5 minutes, add garlic saute for 1 more minute.
  2. Add remaining ingredients. Add in the beans, spices and water, bring to a simmer, and cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Puree or mash the beans. You can mash them using the back of a fork or slotted spoon, or a potato masher.
  4. Store: Leftovers can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 4–5 days.
